Knitting is a hobby for many individuals as they do it for pleasure, taking it wherever they

knitting bag with you, it can be done at any area.
There are many things that can be knitted. These range from house accessories to easy pieces
of clothing. However, one of the simplest projects to knit is a simple scarf. A scarf is a piece of cloth that is
worn to accessorize any outfit or for warmth during winter seasons. The scarf is one of the easiest items of
clothing to knit. Here are the guidelines to make one on your own.
Materials:
Three balls of bulky yarn (preferably three different colours).
Tools:
A pair of scissors
A pair of straight knitting needles specifically size 17.5
Instructions:
The first thing to do is to cast on. Here's how:
To cast:
Make a slip knot in order to attach the yarn to the knitting needle. To do this, loosen about
8 inches of yarn from the ball. grasp it in your left hand between the thumb and forefinger.
Use you right hand to wrap the ball end of the yarn around the forefinger and middle finger
in a clockwise direction. Fingers should be about 1 inch apart.
Next, pull a loop of the ball end of the yarn through the loop around your
fingers.
Drop the yarn off your fingers of your left hand but still grasp the loop with your right
hand.
You are now ready to start knitting.
To Knit:
1. Wrap the yarn below and then over the right
needle. Use your index finger to steer the yarn.
2. Slide the yarn through the stitch on the
left needle.
3. Pull that new stitch onto the right
needle.
4. Each time you add a new stitch to the right
needle, remove the old stitch from the left needle.
5. Repeat the process until all the stitches on
the left have been moved to the right.
6. Switch hands to build new rows.
7. Knit 12 rows, and then cut the yarn with the
scissors, leaving 6 inches.
8. Add the second yarn.
9. Hold the end of the old yarn plus the new
yarn together.
10. Knit five stitches then bind the ends in a
small knot.
11. Knit 12 rows with the new yarn.
12. Cut off the old yarn leaving 6
inches.
13. Add the new yarn and repeat the same
procedure you went through when you added the latter yarn.
14. Knit the first 2 stitches to complete the
scarf. Pull the first stitch over the second one and then pull off the needle.
15. Knit the next stitch and do the same thing
on the left.
16. Repeat this process until the edge is
securely bound. Your scarf is now ready to wear!
